What a start for Roxie....

So much for the end of kennel cough, it came back with avengence so Monday morning it was back to the vet to see what was going on , and to hopefully get her some more antibiotics...plus I had the feeling she had a ear infection to, like kennel cough isnt enough for a puppy to be dealing with.
...The outcome wasnt good, little thing had developed Pnemonia! I was horrified i thought thats what the antibiotics were suppose to protect her against, we then found out the ones she was given were more for the stomach not throat. So she is now on a course of strong antibiotics aimed more directly at her chest area, and also managed to get both her ears infected so has ear drops twice a day to...
Thank god she is still a happy little pup though and doesnt seem to be letting it get her down.
Another vet visit this morning just for a check to see she wasnt getting worse and then back again this Saturday to make sure she is getting better.

The end of Kennel cough...

Finally Roxies cough has started clearing up, now she should be able to have her worming tablets without bringing them back up again!!
She is definetly a very clever little dog, and has already learnt to sit, stay and come. However she is also showing her cheeky side! having developed a love of Tea...it is impossible to leave ur cup unattend at anytime and if u turn ur back u will return to an empty cup of tea...
Roxie has also realised she can go outside without us having to go with her, so fingers crossed she will also realise soon thats where to go if she needs the toilet!
Both looking forward to being able to take her out soon once this kennel cough has gone away and shes not a risk to other doggies...be able to teach her that a lead is not a chew toy : )

Roxie's 1st Week

Roxie has been loving her new house and is obsessed with her new big brother Angel ( The Cat )
Much to Roxie's dismay no matter how much she does rings round him and barks Angel is really not interested in playing with her and sends out the occasional warning to put her back in line.

Having come home with us on Tuesday 18th Nov, by Friday it was first Vet visit time to get her checked over and get 2nd vac done...She still hates the car and refuses to go anywhere but on my lap the entire journey..very cute but also very hard to drive...

She was so well behaved at the vets, no reason to fear them yet i suppose. And was given a clean bill of health...so we thought. Saturday morning is was off to the emergency vet at 6am and little Roxie has been on antibiotics all week as she has kennel cough, I was hoping the cough would have cleared by now being a week but she is still not better. very hard keeping her relaxed as she is still full of beans wanting to tear around the place with all her toys.

Introducing Our New Pup Roxie

We have now been the proud owners of a lovely 13 week old Beagalier...Roxie for a week and a half..

Roxie is a cross between a Beagle & King Charles Cavalier Spanial, and comes from a litter of 6.

Roxie's life with us started in the best way puppy & owner relationships could possible start! with her throwing up in our new car on the way home...

The first hurdle as soon as she got in the door was to meet the resident cat..Angel, much to our suprise the meeting was a great success and after a moments reflection on the new puppy Angel strolled off towards his dinner bowl..almost, im sure pretending he was just imagining Roxie and that she would in time go away...

Roxie immidiately showed her love of food at dinner time and cleaned up the lot within the blink of an eye wagging her tail away expectantly waiting for more....

Her first night was a huge success afterbeing directed to her bed in the corner of our room she only pestered us a couple of times to join us in ours and then slept soundly and quietly the whole night though!
